This Privacy Policy explains how Charge App ("Charge," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Charge mobile application, our website, and other services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").

About Charge: Charge is a productivity and personal energy management application designed to help users organize tasks, track habits, record personal energy information, respond to Daily Spark prompts, maintain private journal entries, and use other productivity and self-management features.

What information do we collect? We collect information needed to create and operate your Charge account and information you choose to enter into Charge, such as tasks, habits, energy entries, Daily Spark responses, journal entries, preferences, and settings.

Do we require sensitive personal information? No. Charge does not require you to provide sensitive personal information. However, because features such as the Journal contain free-text fields, you may voluntarily enter information that you consider personal or sensitive.

Do we sell your personal information? No. We do not sell personal information or use your private Charge content for third-party advertising.

Can you delete your account? Yes. Charge provides account-deletion functionality, and deleting your account is intended to delete the account and associated personal data subject to limited legal, security, and technical retention requirements described below.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

In Short: We collect information you provide to Charge and limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the Services.

Account Information

When you create a Charge account, we collect information necessary to create and authenticate your account. This may include:

Charge uses Firebase Authentication to provide account authentication, including email and password authentication and Sign in with Apple. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide Charge and Firebase with an Apple account identifier, your name, your email address, or an Apple private relay email address depending on the privacy options you select. Charge does not receive your Apple Account password. Password credentials are processed through the authentication service. Charge does not have access to or store a readable copy of your plaintext password.

Information You Enter Into Charge

We collect and store information you choose to create or enter while using Charge so that the Services can provide their intended functionality. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

Journal and Free-Text Information

Charge does not require users to provide health information or other sensitive personal information. However, you control what you enter into free-text features such as the Journal and Daily Spark responses. Those entries may contain sensitive or personal information if you choose to include it.

We do not use the contents of your private journal entries, Daily Spark responses, tasks, or similar private User Content for third-party advertising or to sell personal information.

Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase Charge Plus through Apple's App Store, Apple processes the payment transaction. Charge may receive information needed to determine your subscription status and provide paid features, such as the purchased product, subscription status, expiration information, or transaction identifiers.

Charge does not receive or store your full payment card number for purchases processed through Apple's App Store.

Technical and Service Information

When you use Charge, our service providers may automatically process limited technical information necessary to operate, authenticate, secure, and maintain the Services. Depending on the technology involved, this may include:

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We use information to provide, personalize, maintain, secure, and support Charge.

In Short: We share information only when necessary to operate Charge, comply with law, protect the Services, or complete actions you request.

We may provide information to service providers that process information on our behalf or provide infrastructure necessary for Charge to operate. Our primary service providers include:

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to us or as otherwise permitted under their own applicable legal obligations and terms.

We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid governmental requests; investigate fraud or security incidents; enforce our Terms of Service; protect the rights or safety of Charge, our users, or others; or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

4. DO WE SELL YOUR INFORMATION OR USE IT FOR ADVERTISING?

In Short: No. Charge does not sell your personal information or use your private Charge content for third-party advertising.

We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not use private tasks, journal entries, Daily Spark responses, energy entries, habits, or similar User Content to target third-party advertising to you.

Charge does not currently display third-party behavioral advertising within the Services.

5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep account information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Charge and delete account-linked information when your account is deleted, subject to limited exceptions.

We generally retain information associated with your account while your Charge account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services.

When your account deletion is completed, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your Charge account from our active systems, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary or legally required for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, maintaining transaction records, or complying with legal obligations.

Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or technical systems until those copies are overwritten or deleted through the normal operation of those systems.

Information that has been permanently de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with you may be retained.

6. HOW CAN YOU DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AND DATA?

In Short: You can initiate deletion of your Charge account through the account settings provided in Charge.

Charge provides an account-deletion option within the application. When you initiate and confirm deletion, the process is intended to permanently delete your Charge account and associated personal data maintained by us, subject to the limited retention circumstances described in this Privacy Policy.

If your Charge account is linked to Sign in with Apple, Charge may require fresh Apple authentication and revoke the Apple authorization associated with Charge as part of the account-deletion process.

Deleting the Charge application from your device does not itself delete your Charge account or data.

If you have an active Charge Plus subscription through Apple's App Store, deleting your Charge account does not automatically cancel the Apple subscription. Subscription cancellation is managed separately through your Apple Account.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled through Charge.

Charge uses infrastructure and security features provided by services including Google Firebase and Google Cloud, together with application-level access controls and security practices intended to protect user information.

However, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or security can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While we work to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are also responsible for protecting your account credentials and should contact us if you believe your Charge account has been accessed without authorization.

8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: Charge is not directed to children under 13.

Charge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: You may have rights regarding your personal information depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply.

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal information associated with you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of information, receive a copy of certain information, or object to or restrict certain processing.

You can access and modify certain information directly through Charge. You may also delete your Charge account using the in-app account-deletion feature.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided to you by applicable law.

10. COOKIES, TOKENS, AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

In Short: Charge may use technologies necessary to maintain authentication, preferences, and service functionality, but we do not use third-party advertising trackers to target ads based on your Charge activity.

The Charge application may use local storage, authentication tokens, application identifiers, and similar technologies necessary to keep you signed in, store preferences, protect accounts, and operate the Services.

Our website or hosting providers may also process basic technical information needed to deliver webpages, prevent abuse, and maintain website security.

We do not currently use these technologies to build third-party advertising profiles based on your private activity within Charge.

11. INTERNATIONAL DATA PROCESSING

Charge is operated from the United States. Our service providers may process or store information in the United States or other locations in which they operate.

If you access Charge from outside the United States, your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, information will be handled using protections required by applicable law.

12. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

In Short: We may update this Privacy Policy as Charge and our legal obligations change.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements.

When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice through Charge, by email, or by another reasonable method where required by applicable law.
